Colinne Michaelis at Valentino

I was discussing the other day with somebody that I couldn't think of any good current French models doing the rounds, now I'm sure people will be able to point out a whole bunch of them to me, but nonetheless the shy looking Colinne Michaelis I hear is in fact born and raised over the channel. This is girl I saw a lot of during Paris Fashion Week and it was her seemingly shyness and vulnerability that intrigued me.

Colinne is the great granddaughter of the German born 1930's couture model and famous skier Hilda Strum and American Charley Michaelis. Hilda was also once married to legendary Vogue Art Director Alexander Libermann before he arrived in the offices of Conde Nast.

This is 25yr old Sayaka Kishi photographed in London Fields last weekend as the most fashionable part of London starts to get into the Spring season. Sayaka wears a kelly green pair of chinos from Zara teamed with +J Uniqlo Shirt under a Margaret Howell sweater and some grey Carvela desert boots. Katie has 'the' most amazing collection of clothes in her house and apart from having a fantastic day meeting and spending time with the lovely Katie, it was just fascinating seeing all the pieces she has tucked away!

Another one of the girls I adore photographing is Sara, who just like another one of  the cutie's, Dorothea, is from Sweden. Perhaps they breed this type of model there? Anyway, I had an embarrasing moment in Paris with Sara when I actually called her Dorothea, but she laughed it off and said she is her little sister, so its ok.

So I'm loving the colours in this outfit, I feel like she's a 60s french student.

The Shoes in Question

I thought it would be good timing to post this shot of Garance's new Prada shoes in relation to The Sartorialist's post on the same subject. (Garance's new Prada shoes)

During all the fashion shows there are a few of us street photographers who have become friends over the years and to take away the boredom of standing around doing nothing for about an hour before racing to capture a decent picture, we sometimes amuse ourselves with posing for a daft picture setup or to just generally take the piss out of each other. A classic example above, staring Tommy, Nam and myself photographing the lovely Garance's shoes for the lens of Mr. Scott Schuman.

Last year I had the opportunity to photograph Andrea for Grazia and was in awe of what a wonderful and interesting woman she was to meet. She has this kind of aura about her that when she talks to you, you feel like you are in the company of the most glamourous lady in the world. I could have just sat there and listened to her talk all day.

This picture was taken at the Matthew Wiiliamson AW11 show in London recently, where Andrea looked every bit the glamourous Brazilian lady she's always been.

Chinese actress and singer Fan Bingbing is one of the few ladies along with the likes of Anna Dello Russo, who really push the boat out when it comes to fashion week and will wear great pieces straight off the catwalk and do it well too.

In terms of menswear I'm still a big fan of the nautical look when done well. A well maintained beard always helps the look of course, but this shot sums it up perfect with the open coat held together by the hand, white trousers and a nice pair of monk-strap shoes without socks. Its effortless, but so masculine chic!

A big supporter of Mary's, Anna wore a piece from her collection shown in London 2 weeks ago and gave us all the chance to witness its intricate beauty. I am a big fan of Mary Katrantzou myself and it is wonderful to see this dress come to life on the streets of Paris.

This was the last shot I took this evening in a less frantic Tuileries after the Chloe show. The main crowd had left for the next show, which allowed me to capture a relaxed portrait of this beautiful lady as the sun started to fall.

We were treated to the sight of Anna's nbf at the Sonia Rykiel show this afternoon as both her and Kanye rolled up and almost went unnoticed by the side of the French papparazzi who were in a mass huddle after a local 'IT' girl instead. This left Kanye the time to say hello to a few people introduced to him by his fashion guru - Miss Dello Russo. If you're a rap star wanting to show you actually do have a real interest in the fashion world and the people behind it, teaming up with this lady is the best way to do it!
