Like a Croydon Face-Lift....only chic-er!

.......and that's what I'd expect a British fashion girl to say about this.

Toyin Ibidapo - Cult of Boys

Last night I attended the opening party of my old mentor and dear friend Toyin Ibidapo's first ever solo exhibition. Toyin was one of the first photographers I assisted when I moved to London and we quickly became good friends. I have always been inspired by her beautiful and empathetic approach to her subjects which shows in her deeply personal work. Most of her stories over the years that she has built this body of work, have simply been shot either in her bedroom or on the housing estate on which she has lived all her life, there is nothing within her work that does not echo every detail of Toyin herself.

At first glance some may only see a collection of snapshot images of young skinny white boys, but it is this obsession of male adolescence that makes Toyin question her own life and her own place within society.

I recommend going to view the exhibition if you can, which is on from today until 23rd March at 20 Rivington Street, London EC2A 3DU and failing that buy her beautiful "Cult of Boys" book which is the printed scrapbook of her thoughts, poems and memories that surround her beautiful yet haunting pictures.

After Vivienne Westwood

Marian Kihogo for Hussein Chalayan Grey Line

I recently collaborated with stylist Marian Kihogo for this duo of portraits for the release of Hussein Chalayan's Grey Line. The portraits were exhibited at the launch party at Somerset House during London Fashion Week and it was a delight to work with the fantastic Marian Kihogo again.

We were asked to interpret the elements of Hussein Chalayan and so we looked at the past, the present and the future, the material and the thought process. I then combined this with what I know about Marian Kihogo the person and Marian Kihogo the stylist and blogger.

The beautiful Dorothea Barth Jörgensen

I got very excited to see Dorothea coming out from the Nicole Farhi show this London Fashion Week. Out of all the models I shoot, I would definitely say that Dorothea is in my top 3 girls to photograph! To me there is just something absolutely fascinating and unique about her face and an intriguing vulnerability behind the eyes. I would say I am possibly Dorothea's biggest fan!

Clara, Cara and Suki

I absolutely love this picture I shot today after Burberry with "THE" London IT girls of the moment - Clara Paget, Cara Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse! Cara had just emerged as the star of the show again and her girls were there to support her.

Style Hunter in Copenhagen

Amelie Reinholdt, 19, made a classic coat from Zara look individual with a chunky snood and kimono belt both from Becksondergaard and a little dash of ladylike from her Gina bag. And of course, Acne boots complete many a Danish girls’ look! - (Words by Hannah Almassi)

View the full story at Grazia UK and the best comments could appear in print in next week's Grazia!

Copenhagen Cowgirl

Style Hunter hits Copenhagen

I have been bracing the cold of Copenhagen Fashion Week over the past few days on the hunt for the street stylish for Grazia UK's style hunter. 1st up is Marinne Chloe who wears a Zara jacket over an H&M coat and a vintage lace dress. Topped off with a quirky vintage flat-cap, double bags (one clutch, one Moscino x-body) and some heeled brogues, also from Zara. You can view more at Grazia UK and remember that the best comments could appear in print in the magazine next week!
